Safe in the Arms of Jesus

My dear friend and sister-in-law was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ this afternoon. We rejoice greatly over her final victory over sin and death and look forward to being reunited with her when our turn comes.

Over the last couple of weeks, our six-year-old daughter has been asking to sing one of her favourite hymns:

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace;
In the mansions bright and blessed
He'll prepare for us a place.

When we all get to heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We'll sing and shout the victory.

While we walk the pilgrim pathway
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when trav'ling days are over
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving ev'ry day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we'll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open--
We shall tread the streets of gold.

When we all get to heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We'll sing and shout the victory.

In relation to a death here lately a song has come to the mind of the widow...

The last verse:

Does Jesus care when I've said good-bye
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks-
Is it aught to Him? does He see?

Oh yes, He cares
