The Christian Family

From the Pastor's Desk...

"The Christian family was the bulwark of godliness in the days of the Puritans; but in these evil times hundreds of families of so-called Christians have no family worship, no restraint upon growing sons, and no wholesome instruction or discipline. See how the families of many professors are as dressy, as godless as the children of the non-religious! How can we hope to see the Kingdom of our Lord advance when His own disciples do not teach His gospel to their own sons and daughters?" --C. H. Spurgeon

"Every Christian family ought to be a little church, consecrated to Christ and wholly influenced and governed by His Laws." --Jonathan Edwards

"It is difficult to see how Christianity can have a positive effect on society if it cannot transform its own homes." --John MacArthur

Very true and timely. I have often told my own children that we should all live our lives in such a way that people can tell there is something different about us and that thing that is different is that we are Christians. Many times my kids have told me that others at school will say to them, "You go to church don't you? I can tell there is something different about you." I want my children to value God above all else, to value a life of service to others above money, to be the kind voice that is needed in this world. If we don't teach our own children the fundamentals of a Christian life, nothing else we do matters. It is absolutely essential.

Fully Agree. Christianity begins at home and God has designed parents to model their love for God to their children.
